35. Being Your Authentic Self with Chief Executive Officer Kristin Belleson

Kristin Belleson has a long career in association management and is currently the CEO of the American College of Sports Medicine. She started this new role only weeks before the pandemic shut-down which was an experience! She talks about how she navigated starting a new position balanced with jumping into the fire of managing the organization during this unprecedented time.

Previously, Kristin was the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Affiliate Affairs and Membership Services for the American Osteopathic Association, and Chief Membership Officer for the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She has also worked for the American Dental Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Kristin began her career in association management working for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.

Kristin herself is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the Indiana Society of Association Executives, the Association Forum of Chicago, and the Ellevate Network.

Kristin is currently enrolled in an MBA program through the University of Dayton. She graduated with a Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa where she was an NCAA Division I swimmer.
