Are you a woman with a professional career in the world of sports and athletics? Do you sometimes look around you and wonder where the rest of the women are? Do you wish you could get advice about your career and life from a bunch of badass women who have been there before?

Well, welcome to your new community of awesomeness. Madam Athlete is a place to find your people and hear the inspiring stories of professional women who are kicking ass in athletics.

About Giselle

I am an occasionally reluctant athlete who needs to mix up the workouts every few months to prevent boredom. I am an introvert who likes meeting new people slowly and in very small groups. I am a voracious reader who often gets in trouble because I just can’t put a book down.

I am also a sports medicine physician who has covered everything from the WNBA, to NCAA DI and DIII national championship-winning teams, to high-school sports, marathons, and more. In another role as a sports medicine fellowship director, I have been able to teach and mentor future sports medicine physicians, to prepare them for careers of their own.

Throughout my training and career in sports medicine, I have been incredibly lucky to meet some amazing women. And I have needed this community to help support me, to advise me, and to encourage me within this male-dominated space.

My goal in creating Madam Athlete is to share that community and wisdom with anyone else who needs it. I hope to create a space where women in sports and athletics can share their accomplishments, advice, and challenges. By raising the voice of the women who are doing the work, I hope we can all be raised up together.

So come on in!
