36. Dream Big with Sport Psychologist Kensa Gunter

Kensa Gunter, Psy.D. is a licensed sport psychologist and a certified mental performance consultant. She has her own private practice in sport psychology called Gunter Psychological Services – and you need to listen to the episode to learn how clever and intentional that name is!

Dr. Gunter has worked one-on-one with individual athletes of all caliber. She has also done consulting work with the NFL Atlanta Falcons, the WNBA Atlanta Dream, and NCAA DI universities.

Kensa is the first Black president of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and shares her stories around representation in today’s episode.

Dr. Gunter completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at UC Davis Counseling and Psychological Services. She earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Argosy University where she also earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Interestingly, she has a second Masters in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She started her educational journey with a Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Georgia.
