On today’s episode, I’m talking with Katrina Campbell, an NCAA DI equipment manager.
Katrina is currently the Assistant Athletics Director for Equipment, and Head Equipment Manager, for North Carolina A&T State University, where she initially got her degree in Physical Education with plans to go into sports medicine. She signed on with the Air Force for an ROTC scholarship and the military had other plans for her, and she ended up a Logistics Readiness Officer. In that role she managed a team of 169 individuals and over $20 million in military assets. Which if you can imagine, was the perfect preparation for going into athletic equipment management where she has thrived.
We talk about:
- Her unique journey through the military and how it prepared her for her current role in athletic equipment
- Having an attitude of always seeing what you can do, which was especially helpful when going through breast cancer after losing her mother and sister to the disease
- How she keeps room for growth, including going back to school to get her MBA and currently going after her PhD
